Patternmaking
Bob Mortimer started woodturning in 1965
qualifying as an engineer's Patternmaker before emigrating to
PERTH , WESTERN AUSTRALIA in 1973. Since returning to the
UK in 1995, Mortimers have continued to supply traditional wood
patterns and moulds mainly turned to industry,including
Fibreglass & plastic companies,Foundries,Concrete column
manufacturers and Metal spinners to name a few.
Bob Mortimer
Bob Mortimer started woodturning in
1965,during a 5 1/2 years study Apprenticeship to become an
Engineer's Patternmaker.After qualifying in 1970 he then commenced
a City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Craft course for a
further 2 years gaining grade 1&2 Distinctions before
emigrating to PERTH WESTERN AUSTRALIA in 1973 where
he worked extensively in the furniture and timber trades, also
teaching woodturning classes,and running his own small
business before returning to the UK in 1995.
